‘True Blue’ vegan cheese is made for a true blue-cheese fan: mild when young, stronger as it matures:
Our ‘True Blue’ vegan cheese is one of the later additions to our dairy-free line up. It took years to master because of course we wanted to get it right!
If you try our exceptionally delicious (gold award winning!) True Blue at different stages of its life, you will find that it starts off mild and creamy and gradually transforms into a strong and firm cheese that’s bursting with robust blue flavours. This means that you can enjoy this cheese in different ways at different times – sometimes you might feel like something soft and indulgent to schmear on a cracker and sometimes only the strongest, firmest blue will hit the spot .
Mouse’s Favourite have been making vegan blue cheese since 2016 but since we always set our standards very high, it was a challenge to consistently produce something that met our high expectations. Our True Blue vegan cheese is carefully crafted using traditional techniques that have been perfected over several years. We take pride in using only the finest ingredients and taking the time to ensure that each batch is made to perfection. This is not a mass-produced cheese – it is a labor of love that we are proud to share with you. We add a dash of coconut oil for added richness, but other than that the ingredients are simply cashews, water, salt and cultures. Pure plant-based goodness.
As with all our plant-based alternatives, it’s the magic of fermentation that creates the complex and authentic flavours.
Not only delicious, visually this vegan blue cheese is a cheeseboard showstopper.
Special Order:
Of course, True Blue looks incredible as a big wheel – just get in touch!
To Serve:
If you prefer it mild and don’t want to eat it right away, True Blue freezes really well and is ready to eat within about an hour if left to defrost in the fridge.
It is normal for the blue mould to continue to develop after opening and storing in the fridge. If you prefer a milder taste, you can lightly scrape the sides, or leave it as it is for the most intense blue flavours.
Pair with:
🍴 Pear or figs, fruit chutney. Chunky, fruity crackers.
🍷 Port, a full-bodied red or a sweet chilled desert wine such as Sauternes.
Cook:
🥄 Fold into a warm sauce to impart a delicious blue flavour.

So good with sourdough toast or crackers spread with Gold butter. It’s actually every bit as tasty, if not better, than the non vegan variety that I have eaten in the past.

I recently place my first order with Mouses Favourite based off a recommendation from Ethical Consumer. I tried each of two camembert options plus this ‘True Blue’ cheese – this was by far my favourite and the most flavoursome. Really delicious in a sandwich with a bit of chutney or on crackers. It’s creamy and soft, and I did find it reminiscent of a soft blue cheese (bearing in mind it’s been over 10 years since I tasted the real thing). This is one I’ll definitely be buying again, but as a special treat due to the cost/size.

I’ve missed cheese since becoming dairy intolerant especially blue cheese – this is outstanding, so good on both taste and texture

I’ve been vegan for 17years and had given up on all alternative cheeses pretty much especially finding a decent blue. (Used to love Roquefort)
Well, hello heavenly True Blue!!
I eat it off the knife. A triangle lasts, ooh, at a push, 2 days max. Now saving up to buy a wheel.
Thank you Mouse’s Favourite for fulfilling a wish that I thought would never ever be ever again!
